I've been in touch with the founder of "Techniques" which is a fairly new group with about 20+ members in southern California, and they're presently forming in northern California. The group has a "...wide range of cars, from a porsche 997 turbo to mercedes, audi, highend japanese cars (such as lexus and infiniti) and most importantly BMW's". I'm informed the "team" is about 90% euro cars and they've recently began allowing Japanese cars, but very picky and nothing "r*cie". Many of their members are also E46Fanatics.
So here's the thing, as some of you know I tried unsucessfully to start a Midwest chapter for Europrojectz, and perhaps that's a good thing. This group sounds very interesting and expanded from our favorite brand, which is not a bad thing.
The main purpose of the group and for this year is to "debut to the world and show the import world that there is a new and big team thats coming up", which will compete of the likes of to name just a few twc, europrojectz, eurowerkz". At the present time the "team" has some sponsors and they're waiting for this season to get some big names -- right now it's mainly BMW, Mercedes, and GTuningwerks.
So here's the deal, I need to know who we have and/or would be interested and would fit? Here are some questions:
Are we going to be commited?
How many people in the Team?
Will we be able to show for most of the car shows? Not that many but we can get some going.
Will you and your friends be able supply the stickers, banners, and t-shirts? (they will supply the PDF file to create the material, or they can print and we pay.
Are we willing to support the website that's going to created? They already have a graphics designer - cost won't be much - especially spread amongst all.
Any objections if I take the lead?
I'm in for this and quite frankly I think expanding into a variety of quality cars beyond BMW will be cool.
Please pass this on to anyone that doesn't frequent this site or section of it to see if they'd be interested. I've asked for details on cost and show requirements and will let the group know soon. I'll start with myself:
