I have one of those Peake SRS airbag light reset tools if anyone would like to get that light turned off. Is $20 a fair price? (I accept beer too!) My tool is only good for 2001-2003 models.
I'm back in town on July 20th so we could set something up after then.

Hey dude,
does that tool really reset the light? Damn, mine has been on for over 3 years! Perhaps we can meet up sometime when I am in town...:)
Can you see if it works for E36s?

Hey Glenn....
The manual says it's only good for 2000-2003 models. Doesn't specify e46 or e36 etc... just goes by year. I do know that the plug in for mine is under dash in front of the clutch pedal and is rectangluar in shape. Now I think your plug in might be circlular and located under the hood.
Sorry guy.... wish I could help. :(
see PEAKERESEARCH dot com and check out products... click on R5/SRS Airbag reset tool and then check out the "compatibility notes". I got the R5/SRS-16 tool. There doesn't seem to be an adapter to go back to an R5/SRS.

No worries. I figured that may be the case. Just for your reference, E36s also have an under the dash OBDII plug, as well as the one under the hood.
Cheers.

Ahhh well learn something new everyday. So would it matter which OBDII plug you used?
