Hey all, just finished assembling my personal stash of chemicals, coatings, and treatments so now I need to find a good portable vacuum to go along. I do detailing at a shop during the day, and detailing on the side for some extra income (mobile). I need the vacuum to fit nicely inside my e28 533i but it needs to be POWERFULL! Cost isn't a huge issue, but spending less money is always nice, I really just want a good performer.

I'm also trying to find a good industrial carpet cleaner for use at the shop. This doesn't have to be extremly mobile (for those of you looking for a mobile one I would suggest the bissel little green) and needs to have high water temps, hopefully some scrubbing brushes, and massive suction. Cost is NOT an issue here and im mainly focused on performance.

Thanks! :redspot

A portable vacuum that has gotten a lot of good press is the Vac 'n Blow by Metropolitan Vacuum. Small and powerful.

As for an extractor, for a good one, expect to pay $1000. They ain't cheap. I have the Bissell LGM and it is a low quality unit. Mine no longer squirts out water. A lot of weekend warrior detailers use a shop vacs since they can be used for wet and dry. Something to think about.

Rigid makes a 5 gal. shop vac that usually gets high praises.

For an extractor, you may look at something like the Century 400 Sensei. You need 200+ degree temps and 100+ psi to correctly clean carpets.
