are the old skool trees still the way to go? i suppose its a silly question, but considering how little i knew about washing a car, i figured i should ask if there any interior 'fragrence' tips.

Before using an air freshner, make sure you remove the old odors inside the vehicle. Meguiars Odor Eliminator is a pretty good product that will kill the bacteria and encapuslate the odor itself. You can spray it into your exterior air vents (with the AC running) to clean the odor out of those, then a coupel squirts on various interior surfaces, and your good to go.

i just clean the seats with some leather cleaner, that scent is enough for the whole car. I can't stand the smell of traditional air fresheners.

I have used this product in the past and it works wonders for removing odors.

I just roll down the windows, the smell of oil burning in my engine bay wafts in to make it smell amazing!

Although, to be honest, I would remove all the existing odors and call it a day rather then try covering it up with a "tree". Another good idea is take it somewhere to get the interior professionally cleaned, it will cost you a few hundred dollars but it will feel like a new car once done :D
