Hey all,
I have had my cheesy Omega keyless entry set up on my e30 325i for a while. It works great but all it does is lock and unlock the doors/trunk. I have it wired into the trunk wires just for ease of doing so. I really wish it had some sort of visual conformation when the doors lock and unlock. It has 4 outputs. #3 and #4 are the lock unlock and 1 and 2 are free so Im thinking about wiring it into the emergency flashers some how. Im thinking I'll need to tap into the lock / unlock wires to get the flashers to work. The first two unused outlets are not for lock or unlock so im guessing it wont work if i hooked the flashers up to those outputs. Thinking i can get the signal from the lock/unlock wires coming out of the passenger door but im unsure of which wires they should go to in the hazard switch. Any one know what wires from the hazards i should be taping into? Will i need to include relays?

Also, im looking at geting the "chirp" sound upon lock/unlock. Any ideas on that? Im totally clueless on this. Do i need anotherhorn type of thing?

Thanks so much

It's easier upgrading to an inexpensive keyless entry unit with these features.

the only issue would be confirmation "chirp" since your horn doesn't work unless the key is on, you'd have to build a relay and run the output directly to the horn, under the hood.

Well, the simplicity isnt a problem. I dont have a problem spending some time doing the work its just a matter of geting it done and if there is a good way to go about it.
The horn thing seems a little out of reach i will admit but it was just a thought.
Thanks

the wires are located at the light switch and are grey/white and grey/yellow.

hope that helps.
