hey guys i cant seem to find the jack point for the front of the car on the my 02 540i. I saw the thread from bmwtips but i cant seem to locate it. Does that thread apply to our cars as well. The only thing i see in the front if the panel that covers the bottom of the car.

It's rather straight forward. I have a '97 but I can't imagine it's much different from the '02 model. Just find the rubber, rectangular piece that extends from the underside of the vehicle as stated on http://www.bmwtips.com. See pic below.

Perhaps for more reassurrance you should case the underside of the entire vehicle and you'll see all four of the jack points.

Here you go... Mine's a '98 but I'm betting they're similar.

Yea...that needs to come off... :stickoutt

It's easy though...just take a screwdriver to the rivets...they do a quarter-turn and pop out partially (while still staying in the liner...they don't come out).

I can't speak for your car, but on mine, the jack point I'm showing you in the picture sits behind and slightly above the lowest point of the cover panel. With the car sitting flat on the ground, you simply may not see it because it's blocked from view by the cover panel (anti-splash shield). I didn't see it until I drove the car up onto some low ramps - then I saw the jack point, and had the car far enough off the floor that I could roll a floor jack under it.

The other possibility is that yours being a later model car, the anti-splash shield now goes futher back than it does on my car, and covers the jack point.
