Whats up all. I just did a basic install of my new ALPINE 9857 and that went great. It installs easily into our e36 cars, and the integration is smooth.

Does anyone know how, have pictures, and or suggestions on how to get wires from the factory head unit to the trunk? to the cup holders.

I have a sub in the back, and want to get my ipod in the cup holder area, and I need to run wires to do this. Unfortunately, I do not know how, or where to start. So, any info, links, pictures, and tips will be greatly appreciated.

Oh, I HIGHLY recommend getting this head unit. This simple upgrade improved the sound quality 10 fold, even with stock speakers. It has the best IPOD compatability of any head unit (no need to buy expensive and bulky attachments) and is satelite ready, Hd ready, and if you have a bluetooth phone, it can be used with this headunit and a giant stereo speakerphone. The only thing i dont like is that you cant change the display to orange, so you lose the stock look. a small sacrifice considering how cheap it is, and the improvements it makes in the car.

Well, I haven't run any wires to my trunk yet, but I can help with the iPod part.

Behind your headunit, and all the way to the right, there is a hole. Run the AUX or Fullspeed cable through there. Take out your OBC and maybe climate controller. Also, the sunglass holder. You should be able to get the wire down. Now, remove the boot from the shifter, and the little foam part. Run your wire through there. Pull it out under the trim on the floor.

Now what I did is put it back under the center console, and then ran it out again until I had a length of wire I was satisfied with. The reason you took it out in the first place was because you can't really directly run the wire through without taking everything apart, unless you go in through the side. (You'll know what I mean when you do it) My cable now runs directly to my iPod in the cupholder, and looks great.
