Ok, so I just dropped a lotta cash on a new amp and 2 subs for the e34. It's sounds pretty sick, until the amp goes into protect mode from overheating.. (it's a sony amp)

The box I have is freakin huge, and it has a space in between the 2 subs so it looks like 2 seperate boxes. (the subs are 12" 1300w sony xplod) Basically, my roomy e34 trunk is gone.. I have little room left. I have the amp mounted on the backside of the box with some space to breathe, but it's over heating. So I need to move the amp. I would mount it on top, but I have 1/2 inch of clearance to play with so thats out...

So, where could I mount it to get some air to my over heating amp?

Thanks guys!:buttrock

you arent supposed to mount the amp to the box directly if possible.

Yeah, I have to mount my amp somewhere. Right now its just sitting on the trunk floor. Im interested to hear some ideas as well.

Sony amps are notorious for having heating issues and they always shut down. If you can return that amp, I would. There are many other amps out there for the same price that have just as much power and are much more reliable. The amp can be mounted on the box but i would suggest you mount the box down so that if your driving fast around corners, the wires dont get pulled out of the amp. If you need some installation or equipment, email me, I am local to you.

i thank you for the offer greg... when I do a speaker upgrade, you'll be the first person i get a hold of.

I could return the amp, but i got it as a package deal.. and it really was a good deal seeing as how i got a 4 year warranty, so i don't think i wanna take it back yet. (i still have 28 days, heh)

Oh and also, the box has been mounted in, and I have tried shoving it around, it's not going anywhere.
