I like the current and older M3 body style a lot better! This looks too much like a normal 3 series!

It's nice looking but it doesn't scream "M" like the E46 and E30. Just kinda bland looking for the M3 too me.

I'm sure just wait till it goes into production...everyone will be drooling

I hope it looks a little different when it comes out, and I'm sure it will. It will probably be meaner looking in it's final clothing.

I know that I may get flamed for this, but I never felt like that about the E36. I felt that it was a nice looking car but not "M" worthy in the looks department. It needed the wider fenders to set it off from the other E36's. That's sort of how I feel about the current photos of the new M3.

better put your flame suit on...lol, I agree about the wider fenders...E30 ///M3 fenders look soooo good on a E36 ///M3

The board is E36 M3 heavy, so I know the critics will come out about my statement. It's just my opinion on the looks. BMW should have made the E36 M3 with some sort of wider body to set it off.

I totally agree...right now e36 to me is a kick ass car...but with a stock widebody....holy shiiiiiiiiiiiii....the car would be:buttrock x 100 = :redspot

i never really thought about it before, but i think your right. they would have done much better with wider bodies on the e36 and e46 m3's like the e30, good point...

I don't especially care for the front of the car. It looks like a Pontiac, IMO. :confused

e36 FTW!

C'mon guys, it looks awfully similar to the new coupe coming out don't you think?

With the current M3, you can tell the difference between that and your typical 330 coupe.

Exactly my point earlier about the E46 and E30. Lets just hope that BMW has something in store that will surprise us all when it comes out.

Doesnt look like an M3 at all...it looks more like a 7 series 2 door. My point is..it doesn't look like a touring car...like previous m3's.

I totally agree... I wish it were more like the e30 M3 compared to regular e30's...

I think the styling of the car has both its good and bad areas, I think this will be a car you need to see in person to truly appreciate-

looks a little like the last generation 2DR Accord with a Pontiac front grill....definately needs more muscle!

I dont like the round looks, the E46 had this squarish but aerodynamic look which was amazing.. I think the e46 design is unbeatable.

Have to agree that the E36 is probably the M with the least body changes from the regular 3 series.

I really don't think this test mule has all the body work we will see in the M3. My thinking is they are testing the engine in a 335 coupe. That car is way to plain to carry the M lable.

The e46 design is by far the best (though I have an e36 m3:stickoutt ) The e36 is just holding me over until I can afford what I really want!

I just hope the make a 4 door M this time around. I would have loved an e46 M3 with huge fenders ala Audi RS4.

I think its the complete opposite...

The e30M3 is off the charts, e36M3 is super hot, e46M3 is hot and the E92 will be meh...BMW keeps pulling furthur and furthur away from their classic designs and keep moving toward the mercedes BLING BLING, im a baller, look. I wouldn't be caught dead in a newly styled BMW. The older generations were truly sports cars. Just my opinion.

I think the E46 is one of the ugliest bimmers ever made.

About the e36 m3 being least style different from the rest... I find the non-m e36 to be a very sexy platform to begin with, so improving on it, besides larger flares, would have been nearly impossible without making it look forced. the main thing that distinguishes between the non-m and m e36 is the front bumper and the mirrors, and those both have a huge effect. But besides that, the e36 starts so damn hot, what else could be done?! the e30, while a beautiful classy car, just isn't hot to me until it is the m model with the improvements that brought. Similar with the e46... though there the non-m e46 to me is fairly hot while the m e46 steps it up a serious notch

in short:
e30
non-m, not so hot
m, very very hot
conclusion, big styling difference

e36
non-m, very hot
m, very very hot
conclusion, not so big styling difference

e46
non-m, hot
e46, very very hot
conclusion, medium sized styling difference

i dunno about this car yet....still very skeptical about how "great" of a design it will be...i'll have to see it to believe it
