So i was lookin into keyless entry for my 1992 325i, and decided to check if my car is pre-wired for it, and i came to the clonlusion (after checking for the ctickers in the trunk, and then taking out my glovebox to look for the connector) that it is not pre-wired. D:

so is it difficcult to wire it myself? i have mild-to-high knowlege of electronics, so experience shouldnt be an issue, but will it take many hours in the scorching heat routing wires and taking off panels and such, or can it be done fairly easy?

are there kits for this? or do/should i go to the stealer and have them do it?

any help would be appreciated

The connector behind the GB CAN be a bear to find...

But you can find the wires for lock and unlock in the kick panels coming in from the door.

The kits involve the plug behind the GB.

Early 92' e-36's do not have the oem security plug, and do not have standard -/+ trip wiring that can be easily triggered.

If youdo not have the plug, chances are you'll have to solder two wires onto two empty pins on the BCM, that are neg trigger I believe.

In 14-15 years of installing and working on numerous E36's, I've only encountered this twice.

My younger brother owned an Early 92' model E36 produced before feb 92' I believe, and I had to solder onto the BCM harness for keyless entry.

I'd have a professional shop do the install if you are not sure, or cannot find the plug under the pass side of dash.
