You're racing the red E30? SWEET!

You need a better angle, that stickered up 328is is blocking it.

It looked good. :dunno

You were hauling ass through the left side course... :dunno:

As for the right side, I would suggest next time you try shifting 1st->2nd instead of 1st->neutral->2nd.

Just a thought.

megatron

wassup with the 2.2 60fts?

vjlax18
06-26-2006, 08:47 AM
I didn't shift into neutral. I hit 2nd, let out clutch and car just rev'd. It was in gear because I had to push the clutch into get the shifter back to neutral. Very wierd.

I lost a lot of time on the right course with the straight. I was hitting the limiter 5-6x so it slowed me way down. I tried a short shift to 3rd and it was fast, but by the time I switched my left foot from the brake to the clutch and shifted, it was time to brake and down shift again. It sucked. With taller rear tires, I would have been fine.

And 2.2 60ft's... I blame that on the 285/30's. I couldn't launch on them at all. Mike Neary told me my car was squating a ton when I hit 2nd and it looked like my front wheels were going to come off the ground. So there shouldn't have been any traction issues with that and the -1* of camber in the rear.

And I'm not crazy, Terry Baker was running 285F and 275R on his car...

Oh, and I'd like to say I drove like ass. :dunno

wassup with the 2.2 60fts?

Both courses launched uphill, it definitely played in.

I was getting fairly consistent 2.1s 60' times, with a couple 2.09x times. The AS STi I was paired up with in the afternoon was getting the fastest 60' times I saw at the event, low 1.7s.

I am totally hooked on Pros.

you had a 1.9, johnny 5!

33.892(1)[.522/1.976]

and i think that woulda been yer fastest? looked like it rained on sunday, eh?

pros are the shiznit, huh? jerry lamb (he's on the bimmerforums) built some timing lights for our region and last saturday we had a practice pro solo. it was that bomb. john v, yer driving yer porsche at the pros? this is a good thing cuz those p-car drivetrains are built like brick shythouses. :D

those 295/30 are looking pretty neat, eh? same width as the 285 but an inch taller and peeps tell me they hook!

Yeah, it poured on Sunday. V710s plus rain = DNF.

That last left course time was the shyt, I really nailed the launch on that one. I thought I had fast time over there, then as I'm about to launch for my last right course run on Saturday they announced the late cone. It totally messed with me.

I'm thinking 285/30 rears might be the way to go on the Boxster, or maybe those 295 rears if they hook better. The car was, if anything, too loose out there.

Wonder if it would be better with M030 also... Hmmm...

The one Evo in SM had the 295's all around. For Saturday afternoon, I was sitting behind the 2 EVO's watching them launch... DAMN! Those cars had ~.3-.4 seconds on me by 60ft, and probably a full second on me at the 200ft mark. I was faster through the course, but they still got me. Doug drove very well Saturday afternoon and almost caught the Evo's.
