I put on some bilstein shocks and springs from an M6. The front ride height was lowered about 1 inch but the rear is too high.
Can Bilsteins be adjusted for height? I posted some pics.

To make it really simple I think the answer is ---no---. I do believe the height is controlled more by the springs than shocks. I do suppose you could buy a "lowering" set of springs or do like the locals and "torch" them to look really 'charp'. That way we could watch you bounce down the road for miles. Does anyone see the satire in this?:confused . Or is it just me. :mad

Are those dinan springs? Because im noticing not too much of a lowering, but if you had the same issue i did. The spring was so much shorter than the stock one that you didnt need a spring compressor to get the rear assembly together. You have to make sure that the spring is seated right in the mount in the top, this can correct some of the height problem, but not much.
And to respond to bills humor, are you referring to heating the springs and then getting one, maybe two, large people to sit on the hood and trunk to lower the car? If so, they dont look too 'charp', but perhaps like 'chit', especially when they bounce down the road after hitting a dime.

Ok so I guess I need to look for other springs. I'll post some pics of the car enxt week. Thanks for the help guys.
See the grooves around the shock just under the lower spring perch?
You just need to compress the spring, lift the perch up, snap out the little ring that seats in the groove, and move it down a notch or two, then reseat the spring.
You don't need new springs.

Sweet, I always wondered if that was what that was for!

OHH...I never thought of that. Now i cant remember where they were set on the shock. Do you know if the bilstein factory puts them in a certain spot, or would mess up and have them in different spots on both sides? Ill have to look into this. I think there are 3 grooves?

Maybe someone else messed them up when changing the springs... Either way, it should be easy to check and remedy. Do you have a leaning problem??

Thats what I thought! It sure looked like that, but I wasn't sure.
Whatever question someone asks - there's usually someone who's been down that road and willing to share their knowledge. Thanks again.
Can't wait to lower the back end - the 6er looks like one of those hot wheels cars!

After some investigation, the rings were both down on the 3rd groove, which is the lowest. I dont have pictures yet, but wolfie looks like he can fit some 18in wide drag radials under the back and would look like a funny car! Not sure what it is, but when i get him up on a big lift ill be able to investigate more.
