ok guys. this is straight bullshit.

about 10am, 75 degree out, partly cloudy. perfect time to wash a car.

i wash the wheels, change mits, hose down the car and as SOON as i get water on my windshield CRRAACCKKK

it wasent even hot out... a pefect split down the whole damn thing. and it leaks a bit of water though it too.... no chips prior.. iono. i think im out a buncha money.. how much does a windshield cost anyways??? UUGGGH

to top it all off, im goign to the store today and as i come out, some type of foreign family (eastern european, dark skin, could tell it was euro anyways) they point at my car like theve never seen a car before, and go ABLAHLABLAH and the lil kid comes up to it and goes SLAP SLAP SLAP on the paint..

i look at em and throw my hands up and say was sie arschloch tuend sind!!!!!
and they look at me and go run.

thankfully no damage but fuck my car aint doing good today its down and out.

i need to baby it with the sways and the m50 kit coming this week.

You can probably claim the windshield on your comprehensive coverage.
Call your insurance company.
Also, before calling, search online for repairers.
Some, like Triumph glass will negotiate with your insurance company so the cost is low.
I think I paid $150 for a new windshield costing several times that.

If you need any help with the M50 install let me know, i did it this past weekend and it was hell.

Windshield's aren't terribly expensive, you can get them as low as $150 or so depending on what brand you buy. I replaced my RX-7 windshield for $165 for an aftermarket OEM quality windshield. Oh and that's really weird, I've never heard of that happening before.

you probably had a crack on it already and putting pressure on it made it worse.

no no no! no pressure at all! i just started spraying the car down! as soon as the water hit it it went. like it was too hot and throwing cold water on it..

like ice cubes pouring hto water on them, thats how my windshield cracked. sounded sooo bad too! like bones breaking

oh and on the m50, thanks man, but ive got it, ive done like 3 or 4 of these installs the ghetto way, this is the first with a nice kit!

Yeah, I've seen that kind of thing. I had an old Jetta, and one morning I turned on the rear defroster, and it blew out the back windshield. I almost had to go change pants. All I can think was there was some tiny little crack that I couldn't see.

I just threw on a ppg windshield on my 325i for $250. they aren't that expensive and a new windshield is probably a good idea if yours was really pitted.

you mean the kid just started hitting your car, in front of his parents? What the hell is wrong with people? What the hell is wrong with that kid? I am glad my paint is only in o.k. shape. That way when people start smacking the car I probably won't care nearly as much.

A crack is nothing, back when I was in detailing I was spraying down a customers car and the entire window shattered into little pieces. Water sprayed everywhere inside the car etc. Most shocking thing I've ever witnessed!

Its just some imperfections in the glass that you can't see, once you change the glass temp really quickly it can stress these imperfections causing it to crack. Or at least thats the explination someone gave to me :D

man i hate that ... this is the reason i dont park in front of chipotle anymore, little 6 year old kid started kicking my door once and i hit the panic button since i saw this inside and they all ran away scared , the mom didnt even do anything, shit if my son was touching someone else's car id stop him!... gahhh

What kind of deal did you get on the windshield?

Alot of insurance companies offer full glass coverage as part of their insurance package. Mine was 0 deductible. PPG windshield was $330 installed... $0 out of pocket.

Rock the size of a damn baseball on the interstate... left two marks on my hood, cracked the windshield to hell, and left a nice knot on the roof. Sadly those were not covered by insurance... just wax.
