So...I am having thoughts about my car. I have quite a few of mods sitting here in my garage and quite honestly, Im scared about putting them on my car. My situation is that Im not exactly sure on what I want to do with the car. Before you read any further I just want to state, I never plan on selling the car. I am planning on keeping it for forever and ever amen. I either want to:

A. Mod the car the shreds and personalize the car to my standards. Use it for track/heavy street use and make it a ridiculously fast/handling machine. Gut the interior. Etc...

B. Return the car back to being 100% stock and only drive it and maintain it. To me this seems to be the route that I am leaning towards for some reason. I know there were so many E36 M3s made and a ton here in the states, but honestly how often do you see one in mint condition that has not been ragged out? Seems the lower mileage/pristine condition examples are getting to be few and far between.

I know its 150% my decision, but I was just needing some insight from others.

I'd keep it somewhat stock, but do a few minor mods. Like maybe some basic lowering springs, etc.. Of course if you went coilovers you could always throw softer springs etc.. on it.

I went the route of gutting the interior, heavily modded, etc and I only drive the car on track now. When I bought it it had 210k miles and it was a beater so I didn't feel bad doing it. My advice to you is... DO NOT gut the interior. Keep it all stock inside except maybe new front seats (race shells) and a 4 pt bar at the most. Unless you are racing the weight savings is not worth it. Keep it stock looking and put some nice suspension on it. Some D/A shocks from GC or TCK plus sways and bushings will give you all you need for the street, auto-x or DE's.

Josh, that is a very nice car and in fabulous condition...

1. I would do some supension and performance mods. Not too radical tho. Just things that will make it more fun for you..

As the driver/owner of the car it is yours to do whatever.

Keep all the parts you take off unless they are wasted. Which is doubtful due to the low milage. You can always put it back to total stock if you decide in the future to part with it . Or just want to for the he(( of it...

2. You never know what you may find out there in the future. Keep that one nice and find another car to make a beater / track car out of.

The E30 I recently aquired is going in that direction. My E36 will continue to be my "nice" car... Until I find a 5er I want...
