hello everyone yesterday I drop off my car at a bmw dealer in Dallas Tx
to have them put on my new set of wheels and tires I upgrade from 17 to 18" on my 525i but today when I went back to pick up the car I noticed that they didnt put the new wheels on but originally I asked them tu put them on and do balance and aligment to the new ones but they did everything to the old ones
know today the service guy told me that the car didnt need another aligment that they only need to balance the new wheels and installed them on and everything was fine with the aligment is that true or do I need aligment whit the new wheels and tires
I bought the wheels and tires almost brand new whit 500 miles on them so if any one can help I would thank you a lot because they charge me more then $200 for doing nothig

any help thanks a lot
carlos

Wheels have nothing to do with the vehicle's alignment. You can swap as many sets of wheels as you want and your alignment won't change.

However, re-aligning a car with out of round tires will affect the alignment. Ask me how I know ... :(

hhmmm I'd say wow, that was so hard to read... Next time please use commas, periods, and question marks when necessary.... Probably that's why you haven't got much reply yet, but yeah, as far as I know, you wouldn't need alignment if you're putting on a new set of wheels with its tires balanced already... Swapping wheels will not affect the alignment...

So, you paid them over $200 to jack your car up, unscrew the lugs, balance the tires and put them back on??? :eyecrazy
