Two days ago the Autotech Teal/Green Volvo 850R ran a 10.50 @ 143 MPH. Just thought I'd share with the forced induction community as this car is now the record setter for the Volvo FWD Record. :alright

Here are some pics:

Car's hardware setup consists of a tubular manifold, Turbonetics T66, JE Pistons, Verdi Rods, and the stock M56 Gearbox with a Quaife AFB. Tuned with Motec and running on MT Tires. = 709 hp

If its a street car why is it on a trailer?

The tracks are not as close as they are here, typically over 100 miles away. Although the car may not be worth much on the open market, the owner likes to keep as many miles off as possible. :) Also, just in case anything broke, a trailer was available to bring it back home.

Cool! Must be a wild ride with FWD.

Yeah, it has a Quaife ATB... must be wild, gives torque steer a whole new meaning. The only thing done to suspension is Koni's, otherwise stock. :) BTW have you gotten the new car to the track?

I have a question, what kind of dyno did they make the 709hp? I had a T66 and I really tried to get over 600whp on a Dynojet and it just didn't happen. So since the USA Dynojet is considered a dyno that shows very high numbers, how can this car make 709hp crank? Just seems interesting. Must not have been on an engine dyno.

Agreed, I asked the same question, and am awaiting a response. :) Good eye man.

Cameron, got some updated info.

Itīs a T66 based custom turbo, bigger wheels. They promised 750 hp and the turbo maxed out at 709... the engine is dynoed in a SuperFlow engine dyno, the lowest reading in Swe. :)

I loved my '95 Volvo 850 Turbo. Great interior quality, easy to mod via IPD, and damn quick for the day. I recall Car and Driver quoted a '94 0-60 run of 6.1 seconds stock, which blew away everybody else in the test, which frankly was one of the key things which turned me onto volvo at the time. It was heads and heels over the competition of the day in that 0-60 rating.

Hey thanks! Okay...hmmmmm...still makes me think how low their engine dynos really show. This got me thinking about something esle the other night. They have that insane twin T66 s38 e36 in Norway link (http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=522898&page=6) that did 8.07 @ 169mph in the 1/4 recently. Well it dynoed on one of those engine dynos at 1422bhp. Ryan Woon's Supra dynoed 1400whp on a USA Dynojet trapping 171mph and weighs in at 3550 lbs at the scales. I am sure the completely gutted e36 shell car weighs a ton less than 3550...so looking at that...how off are the USA Dynojet numbers? :dunno

Gotcha! :smoke3

I'd say the US DynoJet numbers are dead accurate. In fact, DynoJet reads lower than all other dynos.

USA! USA! USA!

Can't go wrong Turbonetics turbo kits because they have pretty much setup the best turbo kits for the worlds fastest Supras such as Ken Henderson & Ryan Woon. Turbonetics does charge quite a good amount on there turbo kits though but really worth the price if you want to build a race car...Turbonetics actually has deals going on right now for T-78 turbo kits for like $2,000+ off the original price.

What? Where the hell did that come from? Ummmmm...Ken Henderson has a special twin turbo HKS setup and Ryan Woon has a special Garrett DBB GT47-88 setup. Where is the Turbonetics? Do you work for Turbonetics? Didn't see your sponsoring vendor under your username. Your sig is disabled...bet it was an advertisement for Turbonetics. Your not doing a very good job for Turbonetics cause you are false advertising. Those guys don't ride for you.
