Hi guys, I have been an active reader of this forum for a while, and while my current car is a MB 500SEL 1992 w140, my next one will surely be a 740i, I like to change cars every year. Not that there is anything wrong with my car, but I always wanted to have a w140 and a 96-up 7.

Was wondering if anyone would consider a trade. I can sell the car for 7500, but wanted to just see if anyone here is in the same shoes.
We can trade info and pics if interested.

Look at the broken 3" wiper blade that keeps your headlights clean in a rainstorm! Haha... I love those! (Anyone seen Ron White's Tater Salad standup show?)

Nice w 140..except its a 320 or a 400 SE. Not a 500. Short wheel base lets it be known.

As for those wondering about a w140, very smooth quiet ride, 5000lbs. 325 hp. 500 is very capable, 600 is just amazing, 389 hp v12. Like all german cars, stupid things break, but nothing too major.
Awesome Bose stereo system, good brakes, can cruise at 120 all day. A little soft in lane changes, but will take a corner like a champ.
I love the car, I think its one of the best cars ever, better than w220 00-up S class. I will get a 7 soon, but I think I will come back to a 98 S 500 one more time.
w14 and a 7 are two different cars, love them both.

I'm most likely going to get the W220 S500 in a year after my 7 series. I always wanted that car. I like the body and features better.

As for the Bose system in the older mercedes, it isn't that good. My CLK and Infiniti have a really powerful Bose system. Actually the G35 has the powerful Bose system. CLK bose system is ok, but its better than the older mercedes ones

Privetik, I wanted to ask you.
Since you had both cars, the Benz and the 7, which one do you like more, what do you miss about the w140 and why.

The W140 wasn't mine, it was from my gf's dads dealership, but I had it for a few days (deciding whether I should keep it or not)

To tell you the truth, I like the 7 more. It has more luxury to it. It's comfortable.

Although the best thing about any mercedes is that they don't break down as much. Less problems with them and if there is a problem with them, then its usually electrical.

Also my friend owns a 1998 w140 and as much as I like that car, I think the 7 is better; in looks and it features. I like the style better.

I agree, the 7 is a lot more elegant. The dashboard is a lot better too.

But the 140 is a lot more Blatnoi, to me at least.
