Just got new 2006 750Li, getting used to iDrive.
Have Rear DVD, and I do NOT seem to be able to
control Rear DVD functions from Front iDrive.
I realize that you can not see DVD from front,
but is it possible to control Rear DVD functions
from front iDrive? We have a 2 year old we put
in the back, and if you have young children,
you know how important rear DVD is especiallly for
longer trips.
Have tried some functions with VOICE command,
but hard to know if these are really working.

Seems odd that Front iDrive can NOT control rear DVD.

Anyone figure out how to control rear DVD from up front?

Any help appreciated, as my local dealer is not able to help.

Is it a BMW OEM dvd package?

Is it the single center unit or the 2 screens in headrest package?? I am sure these run off a seperate iDrive in the rear center console.

Unfortunately there are many limits to what the BMW OEM packages can offer in terms of usability.

I assume the dealer isnt helping because it is after market. in which case you would need to share more information on the system

The Rear DVD is a single OEM screen and there is a Rear iDrive controller.
I would think the dealer would know all about this car, but it is fairly complex.
I spent over an hour at the dealer getting my Treo 700 bluetooth phone to get working with the car.

I guess BMW did not have children in mind for this rear DVD.

Anyone have any experience with any good aftermarket Rear DVD players?
