I have been noticing the OPD driving around with Ka band radar on as well as a few laser speed traps.

I got nailed by a bike cop today for "rolling through a stop". Total BS since I KNOW I stopped. I was nice to the guy too. Wanker. :mad

Anyways, looks like they are cracking down and trying to fill their quotas.

Well they normally are a solid "K-Band" and I did not pick up jack... :eyecrazy

Radiator core support, grill, kidneys, DOT headlights, rear bumper shocks... I am sure there are some other things too. I guess I will discover them as I go along.

Those are all over Buena Park. Some use K-band, others have 2 sensors in the road that calculate the speed of your car based on how long it takes you to pass both sensors.

AFAIK, if a cop were to try something like that with the sensors and write a ticket, you could get the ticket dismissed (I believe that falls under the definitiion of an illegal speed trap). Is this correct?

This is how it is now all over San Diego County. Seems there is no point in being nice anymore, just give them the necessary info and exercise your right to silence. Then do your homework and fight it in court, trial by declaration or through Mr Ticket.
