Picking up an 2003 M5/dinan this weekend. Looking forward to the ride home, obviously!
The car has driver and passenger window tint, which is pretty dark, I think it is 40% VLT. (Visible light Transmission)
I know the law in NY is greater than 70% only. SO, I either take my chances or have it removed.
What are folks experiences with window tints in upstate NY? If I need to remove it, who should do it, and will it screw the car up in any way?
Live in Saratoga Springs, who are the regional tint guru's? Might be able to get the guy who put it on to remove it, but the logistics will be a pain.
Thank you for your time and help!

do it yourself. heat gun, 3m adhesive remover and a razor blade on the side windows. and no razor blade on the rear window just more 3m remover and elbow grease.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the law for NY state is not to exceed 35% visibility in front driver and passenger windows. So you should not be in violation of this law. Either way the worst will be you will get a fix it ticket so try keeping your windows down the majority of the ride. The weather hasn't been that bad.
