Love the rear quarter flaring, hate the tail lights. Photographer shoulda ripped off that front end masking. :stickoutt

All in all, I think the e46 M is more aggressive looking, but time will tell when this thing is fully unveiled and hits the streets.

I think you guys a bit foolish to think its really going to look like that. :)

It's a chassis testbed first and foremost, and secondly, the aerodynamic parts they will end up changing closer to launch are what will make the car look more aggressive.

Did you see those fender arches?

jrhaile
06-04-2006, 03:35 PM
Worst looking M3 ever... plain and simple. The M5 can be ugly (even though it's not) because it's got 500hp. The M3 had to be a statement car for looks and this one is just flatout not. Very disappointed.

Mr.M
06-04-2006, 03:43 PM
The front fender gap is disgusting. The front looks like the M5, but smaller and not as good. The side looks like a 7 series would as a coupe. the rear looks like an Acura. I know it will be fast, but its pretty damn ugly.

Sweet thread nice to see some pics of it, and its not ugly, a little too futuristic but still a very nice looking car, this link belongs everywhere its the new M3, and thats what we live for, the M's.

The 20 year old M6 is attractive.

It was, 20 years ago. Its still a classic look, but it looks old now just like an 80 year old, former runway model.

I used to have a 6, many years ago. The world has moved on. Live with it.

The new M3 will be a nice car.

ModenaM3
06-17-2006, 02:13 AM
Meh, I know it's not what the final product will be, but I'm disgusted with it already.

I didn't like the E46 styling. I hated it. It's now "somewhat okay to deal with".

I'm really not pleased at all with BMW's current designs. They are starting to look like everything else. Not the SHARP AND BOLD LINES of the E30 and moreso in the E36's.

Hopefully, they'll follow suit like Ford/Dodge/Chevy is now doing, and go with some retro styling. A redesigned E36 would win the game.

It's a BMW. I want to know it's a BMW when I look at it. I already know it's a BMW when I'm driving it. I want others to know that it's a BMW that I am driving. Really, since 92 and the E36/E34, BMW's have become statement cars. You have the bimmer, you are now succesful. The new styling does not go hand in hand with this. It's more like, well there is this new car... it could even be a Ford.
