Hey guys im lookin at this 540i right now and im wondering what things i should look for like pluses and minuses...like if the radiator has already been replaced the things that the 540's had problems with...this car has nav from what i've heard and its got 90K miles....its black on black and i heard it was immaculate...i just gotta wait to go see it...its also got the sports package...what else is ther that the car could have...did they come with fold down seats? anything you guys no will help...THANKS

I just bought an IMMACULATE orient blue/sand 2000 540i6 w/55k. I am in heaven. I test drove it, and then when I looked under the hood, noticed it had a pinpoint leak at the radiator neck, getting that fixed today and picking it up Monday.
Gonna be a long weekend waiting, but I'm on cloud freaking 9.
My god they are nice cars. Very different from my 97 M3.

i just noticed that the 2001 has much more cooler things...nicer nav...clear tails...angel eyes...stands out more to me then the 00's...but either way wonderful cars....!

In my opinion if I were able I'd get the 01-03, and as optioned out as possible. Just factoring the cost of the celis tails and angel eye upgrade puts you near 2k, which it typically the first mods 97-00 people go for. Plus as you said, you get the widescreen, newer mk nav, as well as optional bluetooth capabilities. Also theres the optional parking distance system (not sure when that came out) headlamp cleaning system, fold down seats, etc. once you find a nice one, write down the vin and call a BMW dealership if you're not at one- they can print you out/fax you a sheet of all the options it has, as well as what they have serviced it for.

thas a pretty good idea...me only problem is that i cant sell my car and then the problem is to find one nice and some what cheap...
