Awesome car - short life indeed. At the time the words BMW and Supercar were not a common association.

M1 guys - have some questions on the car, was the engine transverse mounted or longitudinal? Any pics? What was the primary material used in the monocoque? Was the engine a load bearing member? Who was the cheif engineer on the roadcar project?

How was the transmission mated to the engine if it was transverse?

All 840s have the 4 pot Brembo front calipers. The first year or so of production have BMW in white letters on a black powdercoat caliper. They are plain black powdercoat with no marking after that.
