The motor came out of a running 850 with 80,xxx miles on it. I was wondering how much it is worth and if there is any intrest for the motor. Your help would be appreciated. Thanks... If the car is a manual 6 850i it is a 5.0l engine-M70. That is easy, because there was no manual with M72 engine. Then, if the car has a 5speed automatic tranny with Steptronic itīs a M72, because there was no M70/5sp Auto. Only if itīs a regular 4speed Auto it can be both. In the first year of the M72 (1996) there were some M72/4sp Autos. But only for 4months. I donīt even know if any of those made it to the U.S....
