i'll keep it short...
last week long beach bmw sent me on a 1 week long BMW sales conference in chandler AZ (10 miles south of phoenix) i stayed in a awesome resort called "sheraton wild horse pass resort"
we spent the earlier part of the week in class learning about bmw's heritage etc... also learned lots of practical behavioral psychology that may be applied in the "sales/buying" process.
the latter part of the week was spent at PIR phoenix international speedway.
we had a good portion of the bmw line-up to get familiar with....and we did get very familiar

we drove many of the cars ranging from a 330 to an M6 on the track. we also drove these cars on the street the previous day. here are a few pics and a quick video clip of me in the M6.

keep in mind it was about 105f degrees, but the track temp was well above 125f.
i wish i had more video but this was shot on my super small pocket sized digi-cam.

Yeah, incredible is the only word to describe it.

I went for a ride in a M6 last week, courtesy of Patrick BMW in Schaumburg, and it was... just amazing.

I have a race car with close to 400 HP and weight of 2500 lb.
I have a Z1
I used to have an old M6
I drive a beater E34 M5.....

NOTHING compares. What a technological marvel.

I want, I want, I want.........

(It looks like my budget and car cycle means I might be able to get one about 10 years from now... hope there are some low mileage ones out there then!)

i feel the same way. :bawl i should have never driven that car. BMW NA puts up conservative numbers for thier M5/M6 they say it does 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. road&track and car & driver tested the M6 and said 0-60 in 3.9 to 4.0. 1/4 mile in 11.9 to 12.0

this car pulls like an animal from 110-170mph

Holy cow. That's just a tick off 996 911 GT2 territory. Considering that the M6 is much more driveble on a day to day basis, quite a feat. Though for the record, I'd take the GT2 . . .
