"The great annual get together of German car fans!"

GEN3RIC 05-21-2006, 01:58 AM Sounds fun...... Maybe I will go. Thanks for the heads up
GJGM3 05-21-2006, 09:54 AM It's really cool. Lots of totally sick cars - typically everything from heavily modded to fully restored - you name it Audi - BMW - Porsche - VW
M triple 05-21-2006, 07:40 PM I went last year and it was a good time. Lot's of nice cars....
I'll be there with my euro rat.

GJGM3 05-23-2006, 08:36 AM ERROR on my part. I got it off Nordstern PCA (Porsche Club) monthly newsletter and didn't focus on the date. It is Saturday but that's June 10, 2006. I used to have a 911 and still gather with the group from time to time.
Nordstern is having on Sunday the 2006 Midwest Premier Concours d'Elegance
equate975 05-28-2006, 04:15 PM Awesome, im in.

If interested meet there and we can cruise to the show and line them up, otherwise, for those not meeting there and going, see you there. Weather should cooperate in the low to mid 70's and looks like rain won't be 'til late in the day. Post on E46F website. See y'all there!<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

I few questions.. can non modded and lightly moded cars (like myslef enter?) and where is hidden falls park? Me and a couple of my friends not yet on bf.com are planning on going...
GEN3RIC 06-08-2006, 12:04 AM Car shows are for completely bone-stock and fully modified cars. The point of a car show is to be placed in a class with similarly modified cars - that is, if the show is competitive.. if its not, you'll just show it and hope to get some silly award about 'best restoration' or 'crowd favorite'.
Hidden Falls park is on Shephard Road, by the Ford plant.. right across from Fort Snelling basically. Google maps will get you close..
///Maniak 06-08-2006, 12:51 AM You can add me to the list of the Hidden Falls Park folk.
Since girlfriends are allowed I think I'll bring mine.

I heard about this, but I could care less if I ever see a VW again. Will there be real cars at this show on Sunday? :coywink
tou, thats cool that you are going to make it for at least a little while. you have no idea how bad I want to get a ride in that turbo M3 of yours. :devillook

A ride it is!!!
Boosted 06-08-2006, 05:36 PM I plan on being in the show, even though mine isn't "highly modified" or quite perfect. Besides this show is just a part of the German festival for St.Paul, more so for people to just see what IS out there for German Autos. Either way, it should be fun!
equate975 06-08-2006, 07:07 PM Yeah my car is a pile of crap but im still going :)
///Maniak 06-08-2006, 07:55 PM Yeah my car is a pile of crap but im still going :)
From here, it doesn't LOOK like a pile of crap...
GEN3RIC 06-08-2006, 08:47 PM Peter
Your car was definitely not a pristine example of an E30 M3, but given your age and your level of expertise having just finished a motor swap yourself, there won't be one person there who isnt impressed with the car. My car is pretty rough too :rofl it's always a work in progress when you're dealing with 11+ year old cars.
:embarrasm
equate975 06-09-2006, 01:56 AM Meh, the body is beat to shit, the interior is falling apart, and I have tons of odds and ends projects I never feel like doing, also my headlight dosnt match and its falling out and has the wrong bulb in it.

Thanks man, but it's no show car. I'm comin up to the cities tonight and staying in Maplewood. Not sure if the gf is gonna want to do anything but maybe we can meet up tonight. I'll call you once I get up there.
***EDIT***
If anyone's interested in my Dinan intake let me know before 6pm tonight and I'll bring it up with me. It's in great condition, the logo is just starting to peel but could easily be glued back down. Also, I've got all the mounting hardware and instructions along with an extra filter.
GEN3RIC 06-09-2006, 03:15 PM Ok I just got a call from tanner and he is coming up tonight maybe with a buddy. Maplewood is close. We could find something to do if its nice.
equate975 06-09-2006, 04:52 PM I have a couple rust spots from several incidents, nothing real bad though. Also my driver front strurt mount is shot, makes a knocking noise worse than a chicago taxi cab.
96alpine328i 06-09-2006, 05:38 PM So is everyone still meeting at that park between 8:00 and 8:30?
equate975 06-09-2006, 05:59 PM I cant make it, its an hour and a half drive for me, which means to make that I would have to wake up at 5:30-6:00 which im not going to do.
Boosted 06-09-2006, 06:00 PM It depends on the weather, I am rolling to MOA area and staying with a friend at a hotel tonight. I plan on meeting at hidden falls park, but if it's raining, we might just wait and go the Rice Park later. Hmm, I really want to get our cars all parked by each other though. :)
equate975 06-09-2006, 07:43 PM sweet. I am developing a rust bubble.

heres a new one, my switch that turns my fans on and off has just melted, now I have to jump it with a chunk of a lighter I busted off when I was at mcdonalds. It should have been able to handle the amps, apprently not.
GEN3RIC 06-09-2006, 08:35 PM LOL. Im trying to plan on being there at 830am... if it rains, I may or may not be there but if Gerard is OK with it, im going to have my friend Mark ride with him with his Nikon D70..hes a pretty good shot.

Eric - Assuming it's not raining and we meet, Mark can ride with me. I'll put the top down which will make for great pics. Also, if we can get some people together for tomorrow night at the same park, the offer stands for that too. Like I said last week, having a vert is great for photography not to mention lots else!
Just posted a new thread in multiple forums for tomorrow night.
Gerard
GEN3RIC 06-09-2006, 10:25 PM Nice.. totally looking like shit weather tomorrow. I am going to bring my California blade and a towel and just go to Hidden Falls in the morning anyways.. considering I dont have a clue how to get to Rice Park and I am sort of depending on somebody leading me there. :)
GJGM3 06-09-2006, 10:43 PM Dang Eric. If it's raining I'm gonna have to hold out since I took the day off and spent all day cleaning and waxing my car - even did my rims. Anyway, feel free to call me on my cell. I don't mind my car getting wet but it will get wet and dirty, and that won't be cool given all I did today. I'll be up early and will look at the weather right away. If it's not raining I'll be there 8:00 - 8:10, otherwise, when it's done and water run off the roads.
GJGM3 06-09-2006, 10:59 PM Eric - if you're there and no one else shows who knows how to get to Rice Park, here's some instructions.
Get on River Road like we did last week and pass the Ford Plant, go under an overpass (Ford Ave.) and go to Randolph (stop sign - not sure if 1st, 2nd, or 3rd). Take Randolph to 35E north and exit on Kellogg. At end of ramp go right to Washington St. (left is the only way on Washington) and you'll see Rice Park. If I'm there at the park I'm planning on going another route on the river to the park but don't want to get you lost. Hopefully we'll get lucky with the weather.
96alpine328i 06-09-2006, 11:36 PM Eric I'll be there around 8..820... Are you and some more ppl gunna be there for sure? I just don't wanna be the only one there haha... P.s. I fixed my car today engine idles perfectly!
///M3Turbo 06-10-2006, 12:18 AM Well, I guess it's suppose to rain tomorrow morning. It will depend on the weather if I'm out to meet you guys --- if it's rain then I'll most likely be a no show... :(
GEN3RIC 06-10-2006, 03:34 AM Well Im going to bed now.
:rofl See you guys there I hope ....
GJGM3 06-10-2006, 06:42 AM Ha! It's 5:43 AM and it's dry outside. See y'all there. Wohoooooo.
GEN3RIC 06-10-2006, 08:08 AM Nice...... Its 709 and still dry, unfortunately I jumped the gun and didnt wash teh car last night thinking it was going to rain. Hmm..... its silver, it always looks clean. :dunno

My galler at pbase.com/generic/ has all of my shots and usually has them in a higher resolution. I think in this case the highest I uploaded was 1024x*** but I have some at 1800x1200 at very high quality low-compression JPG and theyare about 1.5mb a piece. Ill put those on a host for you if you want them to play with.
