there should be black plastic "lift pads" in the lift points. If the pads are missing there will be a hole . 4 points....front is right around the gap between front door and fender, and rear is about halfway between back of door and rear wheel .

i cringed a little when i read this, if you cant find the jacking points on your e46 m3, maybe you shouldnt be removing the wheels...and you know we have an e46 m3 forum right?

Big deal? If he can afford it, he deserves it. Let the man drive what he wants, jeeze!

Though I would agree with you if the poster's message was along the lines of:

I guess someone has to start someday or the other, you must have been in his place someday too. Its when you own those beautiful cars when you think I should do all work on it by myself.

Hey, thanks for all the help. I rented the jcak at 3:50 and had it back at 5:00 . It's all done and it's bad ass. I'll post pictures in a day or so. Again, thanks for the help.

I've owned a 328, a fully race prepped Z3, and now this M. And the M is by far the hardest car to jack up. The lift points SUCK. In fact I have broken 2 of them so far as they have caved in. The z3, and the 328 you have many options on where to jack the car up, on the M all there is under the undercarriage is plastic. This wasn't a stupid question. Quite being such arrogant fools.
