So the tires are off my schnitzer and hamanns. I have the schnitzer type 3 and hamann pg2, 2 piece wheels. I am amazed when I found out the schnitzers are only 19.5 lbs!! and not suprised that the hamanns are 24.5 lbs. Both the rims are 18x8.5"

But when I switched between the two wheels, I feel absolutely no performance difference. People are always raving about lighter wieght rims but I dont know why. Maybe the m3 have enough power to not feel the difference between wheels? I have only notice lighter wieght wheels on lighter smaller engine cars such as hondas.

I feel a big difference when going between my 18 and 17 inch wheels, wheel with the right tire (weight) can make a big difference. Not only is it me, but my gas milage can see a difference also. And when I weighed my ACS Type IIs w/o tires they came in around 22-23lbs for 18x8.5s

Are the type IIs suppose to weight more? I was so suprise when I saw that the type 3 is right at 20lb or maybe a tad bit under. With tires when compared between my hamann and acs, both 18's, I cannot tell the difference in ride quality or performance. I put both of them on a scale with tires and they are about 4-5 lbs apart.

From 18s to 17s, I deff notice the difference in ride quality. I have always assumed that the sidewalls on the 17's (45) is the reason the ride is much softer than on 18's (35-40's).
