So while on the way to work today I heard a clattering sound coming from outside and wondered 'who's car is that!?' A little while later I realized it was MY car as the battery light lit and my power steering went out. Managed to limp into the dealership near where I work (with the temp guage climbing, but below red). Thankfully it was around 40F this morning in MN. Opened the hood and the serpentine belt was busted - initial check-in points to a seized water pump. While the car is in, any other cooling components I should think about replacing? Its a '99 528i that has 111K miles, checked other threads but didn't see any conclusive recommendations for the 2.8L. Unfortunately my usual trusted neighborhood BMW specialist is closed on Fridays. This bill will probably be a doozy - at least there's free coffee...
oh, it's tough to drive a 5'er without power steering!

If your radiator and hoses are stock, may as well do them too, they are known to fail as well..

thanks - they're going to do the radiator and hoses too, I don't have the history so I'm assuming that they're the original and should be replaced.
