Well my 318 has had a bad cough and feeling rather congested, so I visited Doctor Schulte today, and guess what he has!

He sold his GT3 Porsche, and F150 Lightning, and now has a daily driver.....drum roll....M5!
Brand spanking new!
White with black and white interior. The car looks great in that color!

Funny, his practical and my practical are so different. I'm thinking, sell the M roady and get a Camry SE, he sells his Porsche and gets an M5...I'm in the wrong business! :(

It's funny that you keep mentioning the Camry, because we are so close to selling the Jetta and getting the Camry Hybrid.

Got any hookups Mr. Servco???????? ;)

SO what did the doc say was wrong with the baby? Mine's acting the same way.

He said to "Put the lime in the coconut and drink them both together!" :D
He changed out the iridium plugs with some platinums and said it ran smoother. He also said I need to change out my motor mounts which are causing a lot of NVH the I'm experiencing. Those mounts are expensive too!
I may go with urethane mounts instead.

As for the Camry Hybrid, Servco doens't have any yet, but they will be coming in June/July sometime. I'm on a waiting list for my mother-inlaw, and there are no employee discounts for Hybrids or Corvettes! :(
However, the price will be at MSRP as Servco does not participate in any type of ADM that you see at other dealers.
If you're interested I can refer a sales person, but that's about it. As that's all I'll be able to do for myself and I work for Servco!
Supply and Demand is what it's all about!

.......and then build a turbo e30 with an open exhaust on it to balance everything out :evil2

from everything I have read the math doesn't work out with hybrids, not to mention disposal of the batteries probably has a larger negative environmental impact than the saved fossil fuels. Camrys are already ULEV rated so pollutants are negligible.

IMO hybrids are for tree huggers to feel better about themselves and no other "real" reason. :D

I was at Porsche on Monday and the Service Manager told me Scot sold the GT3. The got the car and sold it in an instant.

I thought you went to your Docs and he said you'll live another 100 years!

Funny that IslandS52 mentions that hybrids don't really offer any benefit it the long run. The administrator that is responsible for some of the State's cars also said exactly the same thing. When you factor in the cost of disposal and purchase of another battery I believe you actually end up spending a little MORE money!
Hmmmm...:eyecrazy

Battery disposal isn't much of a problem, usually you would dispose of cells and not the entire battery. The batteries and it's cells are 100% recycled like every car battery. The larger negative impact lies with the owners dumping the batteries in their backyard or someone elses backyard.
As with fossil fuel, you only burn it and not recycle it, nor does it regenerate any energy like the Hybrid does for it's battery.

However, if you are not doing any city driving, I doubt if you will save a whole lot of $$, but then again if you're stuck in traffic a lot you may. The electric motor will turn off once the vehicle reaches 35 mph, then it's all gas. Now how often does any of us drive at 35 mph or less?

Personally I don't care for the Hybrid....yet. But then again I'm not as old as Pat is, so who knows, maybe when I'm his age I may want a Hybrid. :D

More on the Hybrid thing!
I went down to Toyota City yesterday to put a down on a Prius and a Camry...Camry is for the Mother in-law, Prius is for the kids.Looking at the savings you might get from a Hybrid Camry was not significant enough. Maybe $260 per year based on $3.50 per gal of gas, mpg at 35. The technology will cost you around $3,000 over the regular Camry and the mpg was not very high. Now with the Prius the savings was much higher as that car would average 50 mpg and would pay for the technology.
So, it all depends which Hybrid you're getting, and of course proper disposal of the battery....but then again I don't think there would be any DIYs to change out the battery.
I still don't like the looks of the Prius, but the kids don't mind...me no way would I get it for myself.
Oh, and I'm now on a waiting list too....yay!

Looked at the Camry SE and it is looking better each time!

I thought you were allowed a few boxes.
Customs rarely hits you with fines. If anything they'll just confiscate.
There are so many people buying Cubans and having them shipped into the US without rings. The trick is trusting whoever is shipping the Cuban's! :D

right!...and that's why the Agriculture Inspectors never have to buy fruits & veggies...:D

seriously, if it's prohibited foodstuffs and you get caught, they'll just take it and that's that...if it's cuban cigars, fake rolexes and the like, it will be seized and documented...then Uncle will be checking you out every time you return from a trip outside the U.S., not good...:(
