Just noticed that glovebox on my 2001 740iL not only opens normally from the front side, but now appears to swing away from the rear under-side where it normally would be attached. Is there clip missing somewhere or what's the story?

I have a 94 740 and when I open the glove box it doesn't open like and american car dropping open in the front the whole box drops open front and rear. It does have two clips on the back that attach to a steel rod.
