View Full Version : Jerk cop and the E38..
RANT: (pertaining to the black E38)
Walk outside in the morning only to see a ticket under the wiper blade of the E38. What does it state you wonder?
At approximately 1am, a police officer decides he wants to be a dick and write up a ticket that the car was parked facing the wrong direction..on MY freaking street..RIGHT in front of my house. I know its "illegal" to have the car facing against traffic but its parked perfectly by the curb..right freaking outside of my house. I've been doing this for years and have never recieved a ticket. I know its only 25$ delicious dollars..but seriously..what freaking nerve that pig has.
:mad
odgrm1 05-09-2006, 01:49 AM Now Now let's take a look from cops point of view
"yeah i am a hungry power mistreating dick!" ok enough said.. he is just a hater cause you drive what he wants... small price to pay for doint what you want.. mail in them a 26 dollar check. and dont cash the dollar they return you and it shouldn't show up on your record.. LOL:D :D :D
Strahan 05-09-2006, 09:29 AM That's an urban legend, you still get the points. However in this case it's a parking ticket, no points - no worries. Why not just park the appropriate way? Cuz ya know that cop if he wants to be a pain will keep an eye out and probably start constantly ticketing you if you keep doing it now.
Green Ox 05-09-2006, 10:51 AM I wouldn't be pondering over the cop and the $25 bill.
I'd be more worried about a jerk hater keying your car. But still, I would have parked properly in the first place to avoid unnecessary attention to your BMW. We all get bad reps as it is; justified or unjustified. Don't mean to preach, but you drive a 7Series man.
kccougar 05-09-2006, 11:02 AM Pretty arrogant, IMHO, to assume the ticket was given simply because it was a BMW. The officer probably couldn't care less what kind of car it is. It was parked illegally and he wrote out a ticket - end of story.
LTrevino1 05-09-2006, 12:21 PM Yeah... cops can do no wrong http://images.bimmerforums.com/vb3images/icons/Smiley-Moon_URL.gif
crewdog843 05-09-2006, 12:31 PM Laws are laws and we pay the police to enforce those laws, selectively or otherwise. Sometimes they are too reactive rather than proactive but that's another story. I would much prefer to see an officer of the law patrolling my 'hood than have punks breaking and entering, and causing all other sorts of mayhem. His reasoning was that at some point in time, someone had to be driving on the wrong side of the street to have parked the car in such a manner.
Time to move on, life is too short for this kind of inanity.
JMOHO,
jk
LTrevino1 05-09-2006, 01:32 PM No debate there... cops should be patrolling the streets and controlling the punk population. But realistically giving out tickets is safer and more profitable.
DaveClement 05-09-2006, 01:53 PM Welcome to life. If you don't want to get a ticket follow the rules. Sure, sometimes you can even find a way to slide by under the radar, but a $25 ticket is hardly worth worrying about.
It would have been a lot easier for him not to write the ticket, so he must have had a reason.
BTW, I live on a cul de sac in a residential neighborhood and I sometimes park the wrong way in front of my house, so do a lot of other people. But if I got a ticket I would pay the ticket and change my behavior.
Just a rant. I know its my fault..so no need to point anything out. Its just that this has never happened in the 6 years I've lived there. People park like this all the time..its a pretty "private" street where little to no traffic passes. Others and I tend to park on the opposite side due to the fact our houses are on the OTHER side of the street.
Its a simple thing and im not being a baby..it was just a rant lol :rolleyes
crewdog843 05-09-2006, 05:30 PM Freedom of speech is one of our founding and guiding principles. Feel free to rant....sometimes it has a cathartic effect. It's not like I haven't broken the law more than a couple of times.....so people in glass houses etc etc ad nauseam.
One of these days I too will probably get a chance to vent in public.
jk
The officer's name is Pon. What kind of name is Pon. Oh well..matters aside..I think I'll be detailing my orthodontists 00' m5 on sunday..pics possibly.
crewdog843 05-09-2006, 05:59 PM Beats me....wonder if it's a female cop. Sounds like something a woman would do....they're more detail freaks than men. Once knew a woman whose name was Ponda. Ponder that for a while....I think it was a family name. Jeez, my cat is sitting on my typing hand.....for chrissakes....
M.Wong 05-09-2006, 06:06 PM Just to point out the “why.” it is a violation. You drive (illegally) on the wrong side of the road to get to the space. You drive on the wrong side of the road to leave. And if a large vehicle (think UPS truck) parks in front of you and you have to leave the space, you have no assistance of rear view mirrors to see around the larger parked vehicle and can cause a collision.
Cited in the middle of the night? I can see how that frustrates you.
Cited in front of your own house? I donno about that argument. You feel one can speed if they are in front of their own house? One can drive without a license?
Maybe the cop drives an E38 and he thinks yours is ugly or something…
sealbeach740 05-09-2006, 06:31 PM RANT: I know its "illegal"
Well, there you go. Now you know why you got a ticket. And, of course you're allowed to rant. Hope you feel better. Just because you haven't gotten caught/ticketed before doesn't make it right or legal. Guess I don't understand your feelings towards the officer who gave you the parking ticket. Was it his/her fault you parked illegally?
natedog37 05-11-2006, 02:08 AM Man! I feel your pain! I also just got one of these tickets only mine was only $20. So when I went in to pay it I asked what the reason behind that law was? What the guy told me was that when you pull away from the curb you are doing it in to the oppossing traffic lane (therefor it must be dangerous). So I think for a second and say, "what about when I back out of my driveway, don't I back through the opposing lane?" The responce that I got was typical, "well some laws are better than others". So basically Pay up and shut up! What I don't understand is why can't they just leave me a friendly little note that says If you continue to park this way we will be forced to ticket you.??????? why? WHY? I think that if they really wanted me to be safe then they can do it without charging me for it. I pay my taxes so I've already paid for that service right?

Because some cops are just jerks.."to serve and protect" my ass

Instead of looking at it like you just got a ticket.... Think of how many years you got away with it. You ruled the street for those years :D
A warning note from the officer would have gone a long way with public relations on this one.
I think of instances like that as the cost to play. Kind of like paying $30 bucks before you go into an amusement park. For a mere $25 you got to do something illegal for six years. If you divide the number of times you've parked that way into $25 it probably comes out to what - 25 cents per time? (if that much) I try to think the same way when I get speeding tickets. If I get popped every couple years for let's say a $300 ticket, it does not in any way shape or form compare to number of times I've sped during that same time period which for me is every time I get behind the wheel of a car. As a matter of fact, is there anyone on this board who does not exceed the spped limit every time they get behind the wheel? I might as well be wearing a 400lb steel shoe on my right foot. Of course now I'll probably get tiketed on the way home. Oh well.

Wow, do you typically pay $300 per ticket? How much over does this equal?
And, to answer your question, uh, no comment, based on self-incrimination concerns!
I'll make a long story short. The last time I got written up was in Dinwidde, VA. I was doing 97 in a 65. I went to court. The judge ruled against me (in a big way). I asked if I had any options. He said I could appeal. After taking another day off from work (I lived in DC at the time), hiring an attorney, and going back to court, I still had to pay a fine but the other "stuff" went away. So, everyone got paid. BTW, a Virginia State Trooper will write his momma, so be careful in the Commenwealth!
mambodave 05-16-2006, 02:30 PM if you want it facing the other way, just pull it up on the lawn facing the way you want.....
Auraraptor 05-16-2006, 04:40 PM when I read the title of this thread, I thought the thread starter was talking about the E38 cop car...(Yes there is at least one in the US)
