View Full Version : ECU chip soldering locations (so-cal)

anybody know anyone in so cal (glendale area) that can solder on a dinan chip for me. every mechanic or whatever i goto says they wont do it cause its too dificult. i dont want to send it to dinan cause i cant be without a car for that long. any ideas? suggestions

I don't think you solder in the chip. They just press in.

some chips are soldered, rare, but still happens. dinan does it for 50 bucks plus you pay shipping both ways, which im sure is expensive on an ecu doing overnight both ways. so id rather pay someone who knows what their doing 60-70 and have them do it and save me the time and hassle.

I know AA does this for their OBD2 software.

Wierd,

The Factory OBDI chip is a removable chip, so I'm very suprised an aftermarket one would have to be soldered in.

I'm in San Diego, El Cajon, really, and could do it if your really in a pinch. I've done a few others and have the proper equipment to do it.

if i was closer to you id be down, but goin down to san diego and commin back will take a day in its own, not to mention the gas money. thanks for the offer though, ill keep you in mind for future projects
