Maybe something like squads of doubles. Best 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 (games, not sets), winning team stays on the court until dethroned?

Nominate some courts. We could reserve courts at Piedmont Park for pretty cheap, but we prolly have to be somewhat civil, and no beer.

We could take over some neghborhood court and rip shit up until the break of serve, er, I mean dawn.

I also have access to courts, if y'all don't mind driving out to Dville. Gerard would be down. Now, Dean? Come out, come out, wherever you are!! :help

Nobody wants to travel it seems, so... everyone go to your home court.

Hit the ball and see where it lands. Then get on BF.c and post where the ball lands, the amount of topspin and the velocity.

Then, somebody can respond with whether or not they were able to get to the ball and make a return, and then describe the return characteristics.

Those courts get used about once every two months, if even. I'll go over there tommorrow and see what the deal is with me getting the key. I sort of know the groundskeeper guy (Snouter bit him on the ankle :devillook).

Beer should not be a problem, it's a federal park, so that's a problem in theory, but, there's just nobody over there on Saturday. The bigger problem will be telling the crackheads that they can't have any beer. Opaque plastic cups and there should not be any problems.

There is not a lot of shade there though, so, that's an issue for people who hate the sun. There are a few shade trees around, but, it's a lot like in the picture. As long as we get going around 4pm it should not be that bad. The sunset with a nice buzz on should be really nice.

Also, there is no water. The fountain has long since been screwed up by the night creepers. General rule of thumb is, 1oz. of water for every 40oz. of beer. :shifty

Be thinking of a backup court though, although, I don't know why we could not use these courts.

Yeah, but I was thinking we'd just do doubles where we do best 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 5 winning team stays on the court so there would be somewhat quick turnover.

We can always use another court if anyone want to set it up.

There are no restrooms there either, well, you could walk over to the King Center proper, or, just do like the locals and pee and poo in the bushes.

This is really easy to solve.

Think of throwing a baseball or something. You bring the arm back, start the throwing motion, find a release point and then follow all the the way through. The ball moves fast and stays low.

So, in tennis, get in position, try not to be "on the run", get the feet set, get the raquet back early, striking the ball and following through. It's the full follow through that actually keeps the ball low and gives it that diving topspin.

It's the half swings and hack moves that send the ball over the fence.

I am not the one with the problem, playing my two opponets are. I am trying to get better by playing better competition and they are not heping.

Hmm... well...

A friend of mine's father died last week and they were gonna have a get together this last Saturday, but it was too short of notice for a lot of people, so, it's this Saturday coming up.

I told my friend I'd take care of all the cooking and the food, not realizing that the date switch was the same as this tennis match.

So, we can either move the date, or, I can play until about 7pm, then I have to leave. :bawl

Is still the list?

Seems like it was 4pm? If not, I'll just declare... 4pm.

But I really do have to leave at 7pm, or, 6:45 really. I prolly should shower before going to cook people food... :shifty

Yeah, we'll schedule one out here, where we have plenty of space, shade, bathrooms, etc.

I'm ready to play or volley a little if someone just wants to hit around and practice. I just need a few hours of volleying. If anyone wants to play this weekend, let me know.
