I rode a bike daily for 3 years in the mid 90's.

I would not even try it now. Weekends are arguably worse than weekdays. Heavy traffic all day long, and more absent minded drivers thinking about shopping and shit.

I don't even really feel safe in my car anymore.

Riding in the city isn't so bad. Think of it as an adventure, and don't be afraid to exert your accelerational superiority over the cagers.

And don't get a bike until you already know how to ride. :rolleyes

Riding a bike is one of the best feelings. Well, maybe just a really good sense of false freedom.

I don't think that I could buy a bike and drive around in Alpharetta. There are way too many soccer moms that cut me off and almost hit me in my bimmer much less what they could do to a bike. Sooner or later I'll own a bike.
