my bro in law is having issues with his '00 528i. he starts it up in the morning just fine. a couple of minutes later, that car stalls and dies. shortly after that, it starts up just fine. it has only 40,000 on it at the moment. any idea what it is? maybe dirty or clogged up something? any help would be great!

I have the exact same issue. On start ups the idle dips down a little, then it will stall. If I try again it will be fine. Check out this thread http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?t=474802

at the end of that thread it says to try to clean the ICV. where can that be found?

its right next to the throttle body looks like a cylinder kind of t-shaped. should have a seperate hose going to it off the main tube.

wow im havign the same exact problem ... jsut happened half hour ago i turn car on the idle dips and the car shuts off.....

Sounds like a MAF problem. Did you pull the codes yet?

I had the same problem. I cleaned my ICV and ran Red Line's Complete Fuel System Cleaner and my car runs perfect now. Also, you should only use quality fuel.
