yup, same here too. Traffic on 400 was much better than usual and there weren't as many overloaded white vans or ladders in the middle of the road. :D I'm afraid these protests aren't going to get the effect they want, it just puts the issue in our faces. AND we had an easier day on the roads? Well GTFO, we don't need you if you don't want to be here legally.

This is such a big issue that I would lose my time posting and opinion here.

I guess since I was borne in Colombia I can see the 2 sides of the coin. And guys let me tell you it's not pretty in the illegal side or your side.

I'm always like to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone. I guess the only thing I can ask is just be a little more open mind, when it comes to this issue.

On my side of the coin I see this: when I go eat at popeyes here down south it takes me forever to get my food I. Guess who is on the other side of, a lazy Afro-American, that has a ghetto attitude that just pisses my off so bad, I can go ahead and generalize and say all Afro-American are like that, but in deed I have Afro-American friends that are really smart and actually heat those kind of people. I hate the kind of Mexican that drinks and drive like they were back on Mexico if they want to do that sh!t here, sent his ass back to Mexico. But I don’t want to generalize and some of them built the new limber Plaza. Built mall of Georgia and discover mill. Hundreds are rebuilding Louisiana. Illegal or not they do good and bad to society here, the deal is on developing a system that separates the bad from the good, the assets from the felons.

I can see this issue as a drug issue, if we can not get rib of the demand there is going to be always to supply. I see a lot of students getting high, and they do not know the damage they are doing to society, by keeping the demand.

I guess what I'm trying to say is if there wasn't a need for them they would not come here, and because there is a demand for them legalize the good ones charge them a fine and with that built a wall so we cut the supply.

bcart1991
05-02-2006, 01:30 PM
The main reason for the demand for illegal laborers is that employers can pay them less than minimum wage, and rarely withhold taxes from their salaries.

"Legalizing the good ones" will do nothing more than encourage both good and bad to flood across the border.

The fact that the Mexican government actually encourages illegal immigration makes the issue even worse in my eyes.

Other than that, I didn't notice much of an effect out here in D-Vegas. I did watch the news to see if there were any shenanigans though...

A wall would keep out only the illegal immigrants. The bottom line is as follows:

hard-working tax-paying legal immigrants = good
illegal immigrants = bad

It really is that simple.

Someone explain to me why many of the protesters were holding signs and yelling, "Today we march, Tomorrow we vote!" If you are an illegal alien, how are you going to vote? I thought you had to be registered to vote and to register I thought you had to be a citizen. Also, the Constitution protects citizens' rights to free speech, etc. It does not protect aliens' rights.

Am I wrong? If so, please correct me.

I know the illegals GIVE a lot to our country, but they TAKE a lot also. Just look at our school systems. We have to pay tons of extra taxes to hire bilingual teachers and have programs that teach hispanic children how to speak English. ESOL (English as a Second Language) is not cheap. Also, more teachers, more schools, more supplies aren't cheap. Many illegals do not pay taxes because they are afraid of getting caught. If you look at jails, how many of those incarcerated are illegal hispanics? Our jails are full of people that should not even be in this country. Also, how many illegals show up to hospitals without insurance? Hospitals have to treat them. It is the law. But the illegals are not paying for the visits through taxes or anything. They can also mooch off of federal aid such as medicare. It's all a drain on the system.

I don't care if they are here, and it's great that they contribute to society. But, if they are going to use government services, they should have to pay for them just like everyone else. If they don't, all the legal citizens are just subsidizing illegals' education and healthcare. I would rather pay a little more for my lawn getting cut, pinestraw spread, and even my house being built if it meant my taxes were going to go down.

Sorry for the rant, but it is finals week and I don't feel like studying....

Fine...so this whole immigrant rights thing just pisses me off. You want to be a citizen? Great, do it the legal way. But as far as the fence jumpers and Visa dodgers and stow-aways...ship them the fuck back to their own country. M3Hellrot described my feelings pretty accurately so I won't go into that.

On to the story...

I was at Blockbuster last night by Delk road :shifty Trying to rent a PS2 game so I could relax and numb my brain after a hellish day at work. I am standing behind 1 person, who is being helped at the counter at the moment. The person working acknowledges that I am there and finishes up with the customer in front of me. Since I am not standing in the "designated" queue, another person walks up and waits. The customer in front leaves and I proceed to the front desk. The employee stops me and says "That guy was in line before you." I had been standing there for a good few minutes before the person gets in line behind me. I told the person I was waiting there first..that she saw me. She said, "Well you weren't in line, he is first." Then Kunta Kinte pipes up and says (in a THICK african accent), "Yes, you, move, I was here before you!"

I snapped...I said don't you have a march to be at?! He response was "I am from Ghana not Mexico, I can be here if I want to, now get out of my way." Then his fat little wife/gf piped up and said you heard them...move. They got in front of me and sneered. So I proceeded to yell at the cashier that is she fucking blind and she told me that she did not appreciate the immigrant comment because her family is brazilian. Then I told them they all need to go the fuck back to their respective countries because we don't need them here, blah blah blah. In the end I was told to leave before the cops came.

Like I said, I don't have anything against people that come into this country and respect what they have earned and acheived by coming here legally and making a life for themselves and their family (my grandparents came from Italy). But if you come here and expect that shit is owed to you, fuck that. Take a long walk off a short cliff. I have not been that mad in a while.

Seriously though, complain to BlockBuster about you were mistreated by that worker and she sneered at you and get her ass fired. Fucking complain to the ACLU if you have to :lol and tell them you're taking your business elsewhere, as are all your friends.

Remember, if you have a great time at a place you tell approximately 3 people. If you have a bad experience you tell around 15 people so tell them to figure that shit out.

Just for amusement....I saw this in an email...I have no idea if any of this is true, but if so, it is troubling:

1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10 million people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3's of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L.A.County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak Spanish (10.2 million people in L.A.County).

(All 10 of the above statistics are from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops but 29% are on welfare.
(Source: http://www.cis.org/ )

Over 70% of the United States annual population growth (and over 90% of California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration.

The cost of illegal immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was a NET (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 BILLION a year, [Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University].

The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

In agreement with the first step...but it does get a bit cloudy once we get to the 12 mil that are already here. Perhaps instead of housing these individuals in our prisons, rather than have a 6 month wait for a trial we should open up an express lane for deportation, that will at least eliminate the severe criminals.

on a side note... theres a neiborhood that is connected to mine which i cut through daily...recently i've seen a large number of houses for sale, one of these houses was bought by like 7 or 8 mexicans (I know they're mexican because they have flags on ALL of their cars) anyway, they look like they just came from LA due to the "LA" decals on their windows, the point is we have had 2 break ins in the past week on my street. the wall sounds good but do you remember the berlin's wall, we can have something like that here, just to make it better so David Hasselhoff can't bring it down.

For the ones that are here........:confused Maybe give a work permit to the ones how want to go back once they make their money, but tax'em good, coz the money is going out of the US. And the ones that want to be an asset to the US and have been here for X time, give them green cards so they can pay taxes and answer to the same laws as any othe US. citizen.

The bad ones can help built the wall and do less time in jail, after that sent them back home, Mexico guatemala salvador honduras wherever they are from.
