Okay Im postin this in the cali thread cause I want to hear from all the guys that have gotten the EWSII system in their E36 realigned to a new ECU.

I just spoke with BMW riverside they said they will not touch the car because I have changed the motor that it came with to a differnt motor and hence emissions have been changed on it and that makes the car untouchable to them.

Any way all I need to do is get the ECU for teh M3 motor that I put in the car aligned with my car keys for the car so I can start it..

So if anybody has done this is cali and knows where to go to get it done give me a shout out. Also one other question is there a way to get the milage from my current cluster into an m3 clluster so the car will keep reading the appropriate miles?

Thanks in advance

lee

I believe the mileage is stored in the cluster. As far as the EWS, click the link in my sig, I believe we can program it for you. Just give us a call tomorrow.

Lee, try a diff. dealer? Just don't mention anything about the motor.

They realigned the EWS on our E39 keys when they got messed up for some odd reason.

How much did it cost you?

I remember when I asked the Irvine bmw dealership how much a EWS alignment would be and they told me all alignments were 195 dollars or something. I even specified that it wasnt a wheel alignment, but they still thought that was what I was asking about.

Bob Smith BMW didn't charge us anything.
