I have a few battery cut-off switches laying here at the shop. They are hella, factory-spec switches. They have removable red keys and 2 terminal posts. I also have a few battery cables that I can attatch to the switch if desired. Im thinking they would sell well for about $15+ shipping. with the cable $25+shipping.

2 termial means only cutoff for battery, and not alternator, correct? Do you have some info on how these could be used (if at all) on an e36?

Wrong I installed a 2 terminal on my race car. You put the switch between the battery cable and the battery post inside the engine compartment (E36) then you remove the cable from the alternator to the starter and connect a new wire from the alternator to the battery side of the switch.

Voila :-) Enjoy. Cheaper than picking up a switch with multiple contacts. I bought mine hella off ebay (dirt cheap)

Email me for more details.

Sounds like a PITA to install.....I'm thinking of picking up one though. I dont' drive my car in the winter season's either, sounds like a good way to save the battery.

I had to install it that way for RACING. I had to have the engine cut off when I turn off the switch.
IF you just want to protect the battery, just connect it inline.

You're looking for a battery tender not a kill switch.

If all you want is a battery cutoff, theyare $3 from harbor frieght :)

For racing you might want something a bit more reliable since its used more often though, so a higher quality cutoff switch with built in alternator hookup is a must.

A kill switch would also work to disconnect any battery from a drain.
These are hella swtiches which are pretty simple but high quality. Personally I wouldnt put a harborfrieght part on my car ever. But thats just me.

Haha, I should have used a winky instead of a smiley.

Only thing Harbor frieght is good for is last minute tools/machines you need to use once, because after that they break lol ;)
