Hey guys,

looking at buying an 2003 E46 M3, the vehicle is mint but the previous owner had removed his aftermarket radio. The factory harness isn't there, it is just cut wires. I could easily wire up an aftermarket deck, but I want factory. Which type of deck should be in the car (it has harmon kardon written on the door speakers)? Is the deck the same as any e46 3 series? Is it possible to purchase the harness connectors from BMW and then rewire them up?

Thanks

mine says the business cd on the deck and I would assume if you bought the harness and chopped it and just matched the wires it would work.

Check out BavarianSoundworks.com. They offer a Nakamichi deck that will give you an MP3 player and AUX hook up (for iPod) for around $300. It looks completely factory and even has the orangish lighting. It will be better than any stock deck could be. I believe it includes the proper wiring harness.

WEll what I really want to do is get another stock deck so that the steering wheel controls can still be used.

I've been told that the business CD is what I need for the car.

Is this the type?

(had to put hxxp instead of http as it wouldn't let me post)

Also, where can I get a new wiring harness from? I want to connect my cut wires back to a stock harness so that I can use a stock deck.

Thanks :)
