its more so for modeling than car shots so it has to be "industrial" setting in a small area as opposed to a big lot. Sorry I didnt make that clear.

Try near the Chattahoochee Industrial Area. Not far from your place. Just west of Northside near-ish the rail yard.

West of Georgia Tech and then South towards AU center.

All around I-20 and I-285 is heavy truck type stuff, like Fulton Industrial Blvd.

All around the airport, but you're way too brown (the new wrong brown) to be walking around the airport area with a camera.

Short of oil refineries, I don't know of anything with enough "stuff" out in the open to look cool, wihtout needing a permit of some kind to get close enough to it to fill the background. I know of two cryogenics facilities, but even they're enclosed in non-descript buildings.

If you're not limiting yourself to huge amounts of pipes and what-not, an electrical substation might also work. :ponder

I think some of the basements in some of Tech's buildings might be cool. That way we can set up and snap for as long as we like. This is gonna be great, Doc Wha is gonna have a PS frenzy once he gets his hands on this material.

Sorry about that went to Univ of KY Architecture, Our Dean was one of Corbusier's students. Really the only reason I ended up going there, very creative program. More conceptual designing, function followed form way of thinking. My dad and my sister are Architectects and growing up I learned traditional design. I miss Architecture but hated the money, went in to Med IT and software sales instead.

Nice. I was never a fan of Corbu, I thought his work was over-rating and plain ugly. His rationale was okay but I found Mies works more suited to my taste.

Im actually in ID but still under the college of Arch. Both are very similiar at Tech, the main difference being scale. The money does suck, thats why I plan on going to law school after Im done...and I currently work for the school's IT department. :lol

Smart man, I am surprised you do not like Corb as him and Rohe come from the Bahaus school. You can do a great deal with an Architecture degree, definitly makes you a well rounded person.
This is a great book if you do not have it

I like the modern movement and Bahaus, just not Corbu's work. His rationale is great but I wasnt particularily fond of his end results. In my opinion, Mies' work came out as more aesthetically sound.

I found the first review of that book interesting:
"This book seeks to profile three architects of worldwide influence, each of whom has profoundly influenced the built environment we experience today. It provides rich glimpses into the architectural environment of the early 20th century, and tells a compelling tale of three architects who each shook off the vine-covered frippery of art nouveau in their own way. It's a good book, but upon re-reading it last year, the author's clear bias towards (almost hero-worship of) Le Corbusier came through much more strongly than when I was a neophyte in college. The book paints Mies Van der Rohe as a cold German technocrat with a talent only for efficiency; Frank Lloyd Wright as a pure iconoclast and egomaniac whose vision was so ideosyncratic that it had only limited influence; and Le Corbusier as a genre-defying revolutionary hero who singlehandedly rescued and reinvented architecture as art. In my opinion, at least, each of these judgments are almost entirely wrong. Even if you kind of agree with Blake's pantheon, the hagiography of Corbu gets a bit embarrasing in places. A great book for the history and context, but I would certainly hope that this book wouldn't be the last thing you read about any of these men."
