Hi: I´m new to this forum, but I have own several series 3 and 5 BMWs over the last 18 years, and I have been a car fan since the day I was born, like all of you out there.

There is this 850csi, european spec. october built 1994, that I have known since new. It has only 27,500 kilometers (about 17,000 miles). It´s a one owner cars, that has allways been serviced by the BMW dealer. Its in truly mint condition. I have gone over its complete service records at the dealer and it couldn´t have been taken better care. I drove the car over several kilometers this last weekend and it feels like new. The car has allways been garaged, etc. (as you can imagen the this car was not the owner driver).

The big question is, What is a reasonable price to pay for this car?

I plan to use it as a daily driver for about 3 years and after that keep it in my garage as a collector car.

Right now my daily driver is a 1999 BMW 328. Besides my wife´s and kids cars, I also currently keep in my garage a Porsche 997 2005, Shelby GT350 1966, Jaguar E-Type roadster 1964, Cadillac Coupe de Ville 1955, Ford Model A 1929 (all in working and mint condition). I´m telling you all of this not to brag about my cars, but to try to explain what kind of car nut I´m. By the way, I constatly drive all the cars.

But now back to the original question, what would you pay for this 850csi?

Hi again:

At the end of the 2nd. paragraph I ment to say: "daily driver", not "owner driver"

Im not sure how much an 8series like the one you are describing would go for, but im guessing it is not going to be cheap. If its a reasonable price though, i would jump on one in that good of condition. It will go nicely with that collection in the garage.

Around $65K. All depends on condition and color. Euro Spec is hard to come by.

Here in the US there were 225 850CSI sold. There is one near me for sale for $65,000 US. It is expensive to import the Euro model here.

There are 3 in Australia and they sell for a Kings Ransom when one is available for sale. No more are allowed to be imported to OZ .

In Europe there are usually several for sale at any time and the prices are low if the car is not special.

How many are in Peru now? and how hard is it to import another Euro 850CSi?
Those would be the main factors in determining a reasonable price.

Here in Peru, there are between 10 an 15, 8 series cars, about half of them are euro spec. (originaly imported and sold by the local BMW dealer), the other 50% are US spec, imported by local individuals from America as used cars. Of the total most are V12´s and I´m almost positive that this is the only csi in this country.

As far as the color, it´s hellrot (code 314), I think that is "light red" in America, with all black interior. The paint looks stuning and is 100% perfect condition, but it´s to flashy and as I´m planing to use it as a daily driver, I´m going to have to change the color, probably to a dark gray (I will choose between one of the original colors available for that year). In case I buy the car, I have already talked to the BMW dealer, they will do a perfect job.

It´s all original but for 3 items:
1- I has an italian aftermarket stainless steel exhaust system with st. steel polished tips. (Sorry I forgot the brand, it was writen on all 4 tips)
2- It has 2 K&N filters (the owner has kept the 2 original air boxes and filters)
3- I has a german aftermarket ECU that in combination with the above increases the power to 415hp (sorry I also forgot the name of the brand, the owner of the car gave it to me).

Ahhh! Dont repaint it. We call it hellrot too. Red is the only color the 8 looks exotic in, in my opinion. Plus you wouldnt have an original car anymore...

Agreed. You might as well wait a bit and look for the one (Diamond Black of Fjord Gray) to fit your style.

Please please do not ruin another Euro CSi.

If possible look to autotrader.de and see if it is worth your time to import one to Peru.

Please don't change the color of a Euro 8, That's going to bring the price of pure Euro's even higher, Eventually!
