Well, its not your traditional Six series, its a tube frame, mid engine car, but its still BMW shaped and powered :) (I know Alex Euro m3 ltw will like these).

E90 is 4dr, and the coupe is not out yet.

Its a tube frame car, meaning it only uses a BMW engine and similar bodywork, nothing really from the stock chassis.

Its run by Euromaster racing, its classified as "BMW Silhouette"

I'm pretty sure its the same tube frame that G&A uses, but its just got a new body style.

As others have said, it looks more like a 3er than a 6, the Roof is to High and rear cabin to "Square" to be a 6.

that and the front kidney grill are split from the hood and front nose panel, but the E92 are not split :dunno it looks like a E90 front nose more than a six.

that and the head lights follow the same lines as a E90.

but the the E92 the kidney grill are all back in the front nose panel and not in the hood at all like the posted pic.

Can you read? Its a tube frame RACE car and therefore has nothing to do any production car except for body work. Mid-engine may be a stretch but a lot of front engine race cars have their engines pushed behind the front axel so I guess that would make them mid engine.

ITS A MID ENGINE, TUBE FRAME RACE CAR.

Its the same car as pictured above. The body split off, and its a tube framr, mid engine car.

The engine is behind a large firewall directly behind the driver.

The two E46 M3 bodied pictures I posted above are BOTH mid engine, tube frame cars.

Its something that was homolgated to fit the chassis, so it might look a bit off from what a production car might.

If it is a E92 hybrid body, than it has components from other cars as well. Maybe E90 grafted onto the E46, who knows.

Here's the "mid engine" proof if you really did not believe me...

Here's the privateer 1 series that was run at belcar's first 2006 race (Note the 190d motorsports were tested last year and sent to dubai 06 race already):

It looks like an E90 front end on an E46. Considering they have free reign with these tube frame cars, I wouldn't be surprised if it is.

EDIT - I guess it was at Dubai. :D

I know we spoke about it, but the woman driver said it was flown last minute from BMW motorsport. I'm pretty sure it was a test race for the 120d race package (95k euros) and it came in 9th place.

It is tnteresting, but as Tom and I were talking earlier, it doesn't seem all that fast for what it is, as FIA GT cars that are somewhat similar in weight and power are significantly faster...however the exact motor thats in this car, and the driver skill are the big variables. Plus we don't know how well setup/designed these cars are.

Its in T6 class, which is 3.5 (3500cc) + and is 1150kg (~2500#).

So They might be using a 3.8L I6, I can't see the engine clear enough to determine which motor it exactly is.

Eitherway it must be fun, atleast it has a sequential ;)
