My SRS light came on the other day (car has a history of doing this) and I'd like to scan the code and see if it is the driver's side belt buckle again... And turn the light off. If anybody has got one in or around the front range, I'd love to rent/borrow it.

Thanks!

I don't have one. You may know this, but you can just take it to Checker Auto Parts or some equivalent and they have a scanner that can do it. They gave me a nice print out that showed the code that was flagged and what was probably faulty. Some of the engine codes could be combinations of things so it gives the likely faulty components. It was free and then you can fix it cheap since you know what part to get. Then if you do a search, there's a procedure for resetting the CEL yourself.

The CEL isn't the light I'm after... it is the airbag light that is on.

Sorry, I misread that. Except for resetting the SRS light, everything else I said still applies. I'm sure there's a way to reset it though. You just have to get search-savvy or ask around elsewhere.

I dont think there is a way to reset the SRS light yourself. If there is I'd love to know because mine is on as well.

If all else fails, and everyone including myself forgets this, ask one of the service guys at the dealership.

If nobody has one I'll just go ahead and buy one... I was just hoping someone already had one and would be willing to let me make use of it.

I'll need to be able to pull the code since I suspect something actually did go bad (car has a bad history with the airbag system).
