about to finally detail my car tomorrow. what do i do differently with regards to the protective (3m?) film on the front on my car?

That's a good question. Washing and claying should not be a problem, neither should waxing or sealing over top. The only thing I'm unsure about is polishing it via machine.

you dont need to clay plastic. most waxes and polishes say on the bottle specifically NOT to apply them to plastic.

you should use a plastic cleaner or plaastic polish. i like Plexxus. i use it for my convertible rear window.

I think your thinking of something different. He's no asking about plastic trim, headlights, etc. He's specifically referring to the 3M clear bra that sticks onto painted areas.

Clay and polish tend not be be necessary on 3M and Venture Shield.

Everyone I know that has a 3M clearbra uses plexus. Im not sure if you can use a compound/polish on it though. Would almost be tempted to call up 3M and ask them. do a search on autopia.org

seriously though, the clear bra is made of plastic and should probably be treated as such.
