View Full Version : Leather Restoration for Vader Seats with Poll
bimmeracer3 04-26-2006, 07:41 PM My vader's look similar to the one in the pic below. my questions are:
Which kit is the best in repairing and rejuvenating the look of the seats over the long term?
How much product of each brand is needed to do the front and back seats?
and after the restoration is completed, which product is the best to keep the seats in good condition?

DakarBurch 04-26-2006, 08:34 PM i swear i just saw a thread the other day with a guy posting that seat, used www.leatherreapairkits.com (http://www.leatherreapairkits.com) or something around those lines, used the "kit" which was 50 bucks, his seats look brand new now, and he still has like a quarter of the bottle left...
bimmeracer3 04-26-2006, 09:07 PM yea thats the same seat. i am leaning towards what he did, unless someone can sway me in a different direction.
DakarBurch 04-26-2006, 09:34 PM i would go with that leatherrepairkit place, his seats looked damn good after it...my black vaders are hardely worn but i might get the kit just to make them look brand spankin new for summer..
E36cruisin 04-26-2006, 10:38 PM How long does this hold up after you do it? Is this long term or just a short term quick fix that will have to be redone like every 6 months?
fla_esp 04-27-2006, 12:02 AM I would contact the folks at Leatherique. Their products have worked great for me and they are extremely helpful in what you need, how to do it, etc.
They have products to fill the cracks, holes, etc. and the prepping agents, dyes, cleaners and oils to maintain.
Landerholm 04-27-2006, 05:00 PM Send Leatherique a photo of your seats if you have any doubts - they have excellent service.
picus 04-27-2006, 05:02 PM I just used some Leatherique on seats that looked roughly similar to that (rejuvinator oil, then cleaner). Obviously they did not come out perfect, but the end result was definitely worth the cost and time it took.
bimmeracer3 04-27-2006, 07:31 PM how much is it for the complete rejuvenator and crack-fill leatherique kit?
picus 04-27-2006, 07:48 PM I paid Canadian, but in the US I believe the pricing is something like $16 for 4oz of the crack filler, $27 for 16oz of the rejuv oil, and $17.50ish for 16oz of the pristine clean. I don't use it very often on customer cars since its $$$, but it's always been worth it imo.
bimmeracer3 04-27-2006, 08:17 PM and how much is the color dye?
picus 04-27-2006, 09:30 PM It depends on the color. The color I did was ebony black and the dye was $34 CAD, so ~$26 USD.
MSS325 04-28-2006, 07:58 AM how much is it for the complete rejuvenator and crack-fill leatherique kit?
Just did my seats. I spent about $115, iirc, on everything 16oz dye, 16oz rejuvenator, 16oz pristine clean. 16oz pre dye cleaner, and 2oz of crack filler.
I highly recommend Leatherique.
