No that is not the intention of this part to my knowledge. To my knowledge the brake light switch just merely goes bad over a period of time and you will randomly get an error code on your OBC say BRAKE LIGHT CIRCUIT FAILURE or something along those lines. If you get that randomly then your brake light switch is bad and you need to order another one.
