View Full Version : Need advice, tiny scratches
farhan325 04-24-2006, 08:29 PM Hello experts,
My car has a few small scratches on the body. I'm a beginner and have never waxed a car before. I'm going to buy one of those automatic polishing machines also.
Please advise on how to proceed in removing little scratches and on all the equipment needed.
Thanks

Thanks for the info.
I want to buy some equipment for polishing my car. which machine would be advisable?
I've been also looking for Meguiars plastic cleaner #10 and polish #17 but couldnt find in local stores. What would be the cheapest place to buy online. I'm gona be buy some other stuff also like a terry cloth etc.
Thanks for all your help.
Ryan328i 04-26-2006, 11:50 AM Check out www.autogeek.net. I'd recommend the Porter Cable 7424, it's a random orbital and very easy to use. Autogeek has kits that include the Porter Cable along with the pads that you would need, etc. They're a forum sponsor so you get 10% off with the coupon code "clubmember." I bought my kit from there a while back and I've been nothing but satisfied with the products, prices, and service.

The website is great.
Is there anything cheaper than PC in the market?

Their a lot of cheaper machines, but none of them will come close to removing the scratches, unlike the PC. You should be able to get a PC locally for $80 from lowes (I've read some members here getting it at that price)

Mine was $99 at Lowes. Today when I exchanged it, they had raised the price to $108.

I wonder if they realize that they are used for car polishing and up the price for the spring/summer.

I think the $80 was a sale price IIRC. The sale must have ended. The $108 also sounds familiar. That's probably the regular price.
DECOY 04-28-2006, 11:53 PM The Porter Cable and DeWalt orbital polishers are 100 times better than the ones sold at pep boys or autozone. Those are just garbage. The PC will be a good investment.

Just FYI:
This discount code is not applicable for some products.
PC is not covered either.
