Have various places on my 353i where grime has accumulated. Mostly around trim pieces that are hard to get into without a small toothbrush.
What is the best way to clean this and what should I use? The car is white and otherwise the PO to good care of the exterior.
TIA

I use the aresol cleaner from my computer's keyboard.

I guess you mean compressed air?
It is really kind of grimey. I tried a old tooth brush when washing the car (with some name brand car washing soap, can't remember which) but I worry that might leave scratches or other marks. I need something effective but not abusive.
Ideas, anyone?

I think compressed air is the best way to go, but I don't know how good it would work on "sticky" grime, but you should try it

For most exterior tight spots I find the toothbrush bristles to be a little too harsh and too short for painted areas. They're good for trim and textures surfaces though.
Try a bristle sash brush available at all paint stores, anything from 1 inch up to 2.5 inches. Wrap duct tape around the metal part.
Feel them with your hand and you'll see how soft they are.
As for cleaners, just use your normal exterior car soap/water mix or bug/tar remover for lower panels.
A good and gentle interior cleaner is woolite mixed 6:1 or 10:1 with water but you didn't ask about the interior.

Glad to help. I see you're in Seattle and I was there about a month ago. The Clipper couldn't return because of wind so they leased 6 buses to take the people back home. I was one of the 6. Big city, but nice.
