There's this kid at my school with an E36 325is that always tools around with me on the drive home. We generally just cruise next to each other or so switch-ups, I dunno, stupid stuff.

Anyway, up until today we had never raced. Today, we left class, and were cruising side by side in 3rd at around 40mph, and decided to run it. He jumped the gun on me and immediately pulled about a half a carlength before I got into it. I caught up, door to door, and looked at him as I was passing. He has his hands in the "WTF?" position staring at his cluster wondering why he was about to get destroyed by a 318ti. By the end of third, I had pulled about 8 BUS lengths on him! I talked to him afterwards and he said he was on it the entire time.

So anyway, he was trying to figure out how a 138hp 1.9L destroyed him so badly... little does he know that I'm packing an extra 2 cylinders and about another 102hp under the hood :)

Ha ha. I know the feeling.

There was a guy at my high school with a yellow, older generation Celica with Lambo doors, an intake, and the dreaded fart can. I used to always see him at the beach, both doors open, cruising. Sometimes he'd lean out of his car while driving on beach, to punctuate the higher plane of badassness that he resided on. He always blasted Ying Yang Twins, whenever and wherever.

I raced him after school one day with my autotragic E39 528i (in my signature)--he beat me to around 40 mph till I began to pull, and then I pulled on him like crazy at 70. As I passed him, I got the most animated and exuberant "WTF" expression ever. I then watched him beat his dashboard in my rearview mirror.

Good kill.

You really should change your badging, though, or just go debadged... After all it's no longer a 318ti...

definatlely dont change your badges, after all if you are gonna be technical it wasnt a 318 it was a 319, just like the 550i's, 650i's and 750i's are 4.8 liters, BMW hasnt been completely true with their external designations since before the E38

I guess I'm just partial because if I got beat by a 318ti, I would probably hang myself, and that's not good....

he should have heard the extra 2 cylinders or at least asked to check your engine bay out of curiousity!

if he cant distinguish the sound differences bet a 1.9 and a 3.2 then rather let him squirm!:evil2

Stick with stock badging, it's what I do. Tell him you did an A/C delete and watch him sweat all summer after he does it to his car.
